Weekly Eye On Missions: December 9, 2009

Don Carney, GPBC Missionary to Mexico

Hola!

Hello from Yucatan! A lot has been happening here the past few months, a lot of things for which we praise the Lord! We opened the Bible Baptist Seminary. This is a crucial step in preparing men (and women) to serve the Lord.

We praise the Lord for the growth we are already seeing in their lives. David and Miguel just led their first person to Christ. A fourth young man, Oso, is working with me at the church in an apprenticeship program. He is marrying Glendy in December, and they have a lot of desire to serve the Lord. We are hoping that he will enter the seminary in January.

GLORY! God has provided us a church property! On October 25th, the church voted unanimously to buy our existing building, on November 12, we signed a binding contract, on November 20 we paid 50% down, and within sixty days everything should be finalized. Father does know best, doesn't He?

We praise the Lord that an entire family has received the Lord, as well as, another young couple. Carolyn was able to lead Sara, the mother of one of our most faithful men, to Christ. Praise the Lord that seven recently followed the Lord in Baptism!

Our son, John, was deployed to Afghanistan in October; please pray for his safety and spiritual growth.
