Steve Myers: August 2008
Hallelujah! The Lord did exceedingly abundantly above all we asked for. The Petersons came over and did magic shows at our VBS and at one of our schools and in one of our townships and we had at least 74 professions of faith. The children really enjoyed his shows and then heard the Word and open their hearts to Christ.
It always does the heart good to see so many people profess Christ as their Saviour. We will baptize some of them on Sunday the 17 of August. The Devil has not been happy and we have all suffered from the flu my wife and I for three weeks and still not well. Doctors and lots of medicine. Please pray for our healing The vans have also had to go to the mechanics to get fixed, but we press on no matter what comes.
I still have open dates in October and November, I need to raise some new support to replace support that has fallen away and also my monthly fuel bill has gone up about 500 dollars a month. The Lord is able!
The new church we sent out has had 6 visitors and 2 saved, we are helping them with their rent and salary and housing until the church can take care of it.
We this past Sunday we had 7 come for salvation and baptism. A couple who were saved through the VBS are being discipled and will get baptized on Sunday. They are very excited about getting involved. I started my men with preaching at mens meeting and then progressed to Sunday night and now they will share the duties while I am away, please pray for them and that God might call one or more to the ministry- Collin, Krison, Terrance, Roland, Wesley, Errol, Vischal, Sbonelo.
It is nice to have some men in church. The Zulu church is still struggling to get men but we press on no matter what. A missionary in the Dutch Antillies told me it took him 20 years to get his church self supporting, self governing , and self propagating. It also started 3 other churches. It will be 18 years on the field in January, we have 2 more years to turn it over to a national!
