Scott and Kristie Dean: December 2005

The Christmas season is always an enjoyable one for us. This will be the first Christmas we have spent with family in four years. For Caleb and Elsie this will be the first Christmans ever with grandmas and grandpas. We are done traveling for a few week and look forward to spending time with family.

November was a busy month. When I scheduled meetings it did not seem so busy, but several new meetings came up suddenly. Since I am grateful for any opportunity to talk about Mongolia and encourage people to pray for us, I am not complaining, but it certainly made for a busy November. All our meetings last month were a blessing to us. So may people came to me or Kristie to say that they were praying for us. Our primary purpose for furlough is to report back to the churches that support us and to encourage people to pray for us. God has reassured is that many are praying for us as we labor for Him in Mongolia!

In between meetings in November, my brother, Tim, brought his family from Alaska to visit us in Oregon. Since he was married just before we left for Mongolia, we have never really had a chance to get to know his wife. They now have two children, as well. It was exciting to see how God is at work in their lives!

Next month I will be taking a trip to Mongolia for three weeks to keep up on my Mongolian language skills, to be with the Mongolians during their Lunar New Year, and to show the city of Ulan Bator to a young man in my church who is interested in missions. Joshua Makin and I will leave on January 17 for Mongolia. Pray that during our trip we will have opportunities to speak the truth boldly. I am praying specificity that Bob and Buren will both be saved during this time and that others will hear about the saving power of Jesus for the first time. Please pray with me, and I will inform you about our trip's details in next month's prayer letter. As ever, we are very grateful for your prayers! It is our prayer for each one of you that you will feel Christ's presence in your lives in a very special way at this Christmas time. Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift!

Sincerely,
Scott Dean
