Russell and Melissa Aaron: February 2007
Dear Pastor and church family:
Praise the Lord! After praying and waiting, we are expecting baby number two! The estimated date of arrival is the middle of August. Please pray for a good pregnancy and safe delivery!
Also, thank you for praying for my mother, Cherie Aaron, as her cancer is in remission. I thank the LORD for allowing me to have her in this world a little longer!
Bird Springs Baptist Mission
Dominic is a 50 year old man who was attending a charismatic church down the road. He had been reading his Bible on his own and did not agree with their doctrine. There was not a Baptist Church for him to go to until we came. The charismatic church was teaching that to be saved you must speak in tongues. He made a stand and told them, "to be saved you must trust in Jesus and be washed in His blood." Please pray for Dominic as he continues to grow!
Several Navajo grandmothers have also visited. It is a blessing to have them come, though they do not understand much English. I am praying for the LORD to send me someone to interpret for them. I have a man named Al who could interpret, but his testimony is that of a drunk! He is faithful to church but has continued to be faithful to the bottle. On one occasion he was drinking and was left outside for a couple of nights in the desert. He almost froze to death. He was severely sick afterwards and had hypothermia. Please pray for Al as we work with him to quit drinking!
This winter we have had much snow, rain and mud. The last eighth of a mile to the church and the parking lot turns into a mud pit. We are in the process of looking for a better location. Please pray for the LORD's guidance as we make decisions!
I had the opportunity to attend a Navajo New Years Day Party! The grandma of the house, who speaks limited English, asked my family and me to come. She also wanted me to preach. I had the privilege to preach and give the Gospel to a crowd of lost people. I was also able to pass out tracts and invite them to church. We did not see any one saved on this day but much seed was planted. Praise the LORD!
The Zuni Ministry
We have had the blessing of seeing 3 more souls saved in the Zuni Correctional Facility. We praise the LORD for His continued favor with the officials as we have built strong friendships with them. We are praying for more of the inmates to accept Christ and also the officials.
My family and the Herndon family were invited to a Birthday Party in Zuni. It was the grandma to one of our friends named Daniel. Please continue to pray for Daniel as he still has not made the decision to accept Christ. The grandma is very traditional and also Catholic. She knowing that I was a Baptist Preacher asked me to lead in a word of prayer. I was able to give the Gospel briefly in my prayer. There were many who attended the party including Daniel's grandpa. He is a member of the most religious medicine society. Please pray for these that the LORD is allowing us to get to know and witness to. Please pray for Donavan, he is one that we have seen saved at the jail! He seems to be excited about growing in the LORD. He is still living in a bad environment and there are many temptations.
A special thank you to all those who gave extra for Christmas, we do not take for granted your sacrifice!
