Rudy and Lorraine Johnson: February 2008

Dear Friends,

We pray that you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We were able to go to California to be with our younger son, Kevin and family for Christmas. They have been in the ministry there for 5 years and have not been with family for Christmas for these years. We then were in Miami with the rest of the family for Lorraine's birthday and the wedding of our only granddaughter. It was a fast but wonderful trip.

While in the States a Doctor gave us 1000 soccer uniforms, balls, socks and gloves to help our Sports Ministry. That was a real blessing.

Upon our return to Peru, a new team member came with us. She is Jeanette Gillespie and will be working with us for her 1 year internship. She is from the First Baptist Church of New Castle, Delaware. We have also added another wonderful Peruvian couple to our Ministry Team, Abel and Nancy. They are both preachers' kids and he is a CPA and she is a schoolteacher.

In March we are starting a bilingual school, which will have Peruvian and USA accreditation. It will be located here at Tambo De Gozo, the campgrounds. We are using the school to reach more people with God's Word and be more established in the community.

Last Sunday our church in Cusco came to Tambo de Gozo after the services and we baptized 7 people. There were several friends and relatives who came and they had never seen a person baptized by immersion. After the baptism, most were involved in playing volleyball. It was a wonderful day.

A SPECIAL BLESSING. We have been living in our house here in Tambo de Gozo for almost 3 years, but have not had kitchen cabinets. We have been using tables, shelves, etc. Most people here do not understand what we consider a good kitchen. We had heard of a man that has made some nice ones, but did not know how to contact him. Last week, accidentally, we met him. He came and took the measurements. He will start working on them in March. Praise The Lord! I (Lorraine) am very happy.

Again, we want to thank each one of you who have been praying for us and helping us financially.
