Rudy and Lorraine Johnson: January 2007
Dear Friends,
Happy New Year to all. We pray that God's blessings will continue to be with you doing the year of 2007.
We had a good Christmas with 16 people from our church in Cusco coming to spend the day with us. We fixed the turkey and they brought everything else.
We do ask you to pray for us and our church. Doing our trip in the States visiting churches, our national pastor had to resign and now they have asked me to be the pastor. Many people left the church during that time and we have about half the attendance that we had before, but everyone is in good spirits and we have seen souls saved. We have also started a weekly Bible Institute for training laymen that is going very well. Also during this time they had to change locations.
Another blessing and prayer request is that we have a young man here with us for 6 months working with us. He is Gabriel Homer, son of Rev. and Mrs. David Homer, missionaries to Hong Kong and now in Taiwan. His father wrote us and asks if it was alright for him to come and work with us before he starts Bible College. He has spent 1 semester in Bible College and will return for the next school year. The parents wanted him to spend time in another mission field to get a different experience. He is a wonderful young man and we just pray that we might be a blessing to him. He has studied 2 years of Spanish and will be putting it work here to perfect it.
Our daily radio program is doing very well here in Pisac and we have now rented the first floor from the radio station to start youth meetings. Of course, we hope that this will eventually turn into a church. Please pray for this project.
Our other mission in Anta had their anniversary with special services and Rudy preached the first night and 38 people were saved and the next night 14. Praise God!!
Sincerely yours and His,
Rudy and Lorraine Johnson
