Rudy and Lorraine Johnson: Special Prayer Request
Dear Pastor and Friends,
While we were in the States our Church in Cusco had to move locations because the owner wanted to start his own business. The place that was rented is not good and too small. We have been praying for another place to meet.
Last Sunday night a man met me after church and said he had a house he needed to sell. On Tuesday we went to see the house and it was great.
1. It is on a Main Avenue. (probably 20 bus routes pass the front door.)
2. It has two Floors. Second floor: Living - dining room - 4 big bedrooms- kitchen - bath - open balcony - private entrance - plus inside stairs to first floor. It can easily be used for Sunday School classes or other things.
3. First floor: Large room for 120 to 150 chairs- 2 baths - office - covered patio (where a baptistery could be built) - large carport. All glass front with three entrances.
4. Small front yard with a 10 foot metal fence and electric security fence on the top. It was built for a large business office with a full house up stairs. It has a total of 3,111 sq ft., not counting the covered patio or carport
5. He is asking $130,000 as soon as possible, which makes It cost $42.00 a sq. ft.. We could not build the same thing today for twice that amount, plus the cost of the land. I have $13,000 available.
It would be ideal for the church and the Institute to use the same building.
We would buy it in the name of the Mission until the Church could pay for it. Until that time they will pay rent.
I have talked to our son, Russell in Miami, and he will be calling many of our supporters looking for help.
We have to give the owner the final word by March 1. Please pray about this matter and help us if you can. It is a wonderful opportunity.
