Rudy and Lorraine Johnson: February 2008

Dear Friends,

We pray that you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We were able to go to California to be with our younger son, Kevin and family for Christmas. They have been in the ministry there for 5 years and have not been with family for Christmas for these years. We then were in Miami with the rest of the family for Lorraine's birthday and the wedding of our only granddaughter. It was a fast but wonderful trip.

While in the States a Doctor gave us 1000 soccer uniforms, balls, socks and gloves to help our Sports Ministry. That was a real blessing.

Upon our return to Peru, a new team member came with us. She is Jeanette Gillespie and will be working with us for her 1 year internship. She is from the First Baptist Church of New Castle, Delaware. We have also added another wonderful Peruvian couple to our Ministry Team, Abel and Nancy. They are both preachers' kids and he is a CPA and she is a schoolteacher.

In March we are starting a bilingual school, which will have Peruvian and USA accreditation. It will be located here at Tambo De Gozo, the campgrounds. We are using the school to reach more people with God's Word and be more established in the community.

Last Sunday our church in Cusco came to Tambo de Gozo after the services and we baptized 7 people. There were several friends and relatives who came and they had never seen a person baptized by immersion. After the baptism, most were involved in playing volleyball. It was a wonderful day.

A SPECIAL BLESSING. We have been living in our house here in Tambo de Gozo for almost 3 years, but have not had kitchen cabinets. We have been using tables, shelves, etc. Most people here do not understand what we consider a good kitchen. We had heard of a man that has made some nice ones, but did not know how to contact him. Last week, accidentally, we met him. He came and took the measurements. He will start working on them in March. Praise The Lord! I (Lorraine) am very happy.

Again, we want to thank each one of you who have been praying for us and helping us financially.

Rudy and Lorraine Johnson: October 2007

Dear Friends, The past 2 months have been very difficult for our new believers. The idolatress festivals in our area have been going on for over 100 years during this time of the year. They include grandparents to newborn babies, and anyone who tries to break with tradition is considered an outcast. Before the festivals, our youth meetings grew to 70. After the festivals, we had in the 20's. It...continue

Rudy and Lorraine Johnson: Earthquake update

Dear Friends, Several people have called or written emails asking us if we were all right after the BIG earthquake. It was on the Coast of Peru and we live up in the mountains and we did not feel anything. We were told about it after finishing our English class that we teach on Monday and Wednesday nights to the local people. Upon arriving home we received a call from...continue

Dear Friends, Happy New Year to all. We pray that God's blessings will continue to be with you doing the year of 2007. Doing our trip in the States visiting...continue

Rudy and Lorraine Johnson: Special Blessings

This past weekend has been very special with 10 people making a Profession of Faith. Friday night: In Pisac, where our Camp Grounds are, we have started a radio program (2 hours daily for 5 days and 1 hour on Friday nights). The owner of the radio station says that it is their favorite program. We have also started a Friday night program of table games, then a Bible lesson....continue

Rudy and Lorraine Johnson: Special Prayer Request

Dear Pastor and Friends, While we were in the States our Church in Cusco had to move locations because the owner wanted to start his own business. The place that was rented is not good and too small. We have been praying for another place to meet. Last Sunday night a man met me after church and said he had a house he needed to sell. On Tuesday we went...continue
