Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
We pray that our accompanying letter has helped you to understand why we have been so long in writing. Now we would like to share with you some special blessings and prayer requests! As we have already shared, God has been working in the lives of our people at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Wales. While we were facing a difficult decision God was preparing them for what was coming. Wayne began preaching and ministering to all of us. He surrendered to preach many years ago but due to divorce and remarriage knew he could never pastor. He has been my right hand man. He is not seeking a title but an opportunity to serve God any way he can. He and Gail have grown so much this past year. They simply needed to gain a new focus and realize hat God has much for them to do. Pray for Gail's physical healing and that God will provide the support they need while we are here. Wayne will be holding things together as he is able. He said before we left, "Don't worry, Pastor, Lighthouse Baptist will still be here."
Jason and Ronnie have also been growing. They are a young married couple. Both grew up in missionary churches. They too had been in a dead church for some years. Jason and I were doing a Bible study and he let me know that he too could preach. I asked him to preach and he was nervous. He said it would be more like a devotion than a sermon, God really used his message to minister to us! He will be side by side with Wayne as they hold the fort. They are close to another missionary couple they knew while growing up and have that support as well.
Please pray for Linda and the girls. When we had left them at West Shore Baptist Church we had been led to believe that it was an independent Baptist church. This summer they have been gone almost all of the time on holidays. Linda is discouraged and will stay in contact with Wayne and Gail but she wants the girls to go to West Shore while we are gone. This burdens our hearts but we trust them in the Lord's hands. We do not know how the girls and Glyn feel about this. We will be in regular contact with them. Please pray for Dewi's salvation!
Caleb and Dawn hope to return to Wales in May. Pray they will be able to raise the needed support. They also have a new baby coming in April! This will be grandchild number twelve! We are waiting to see what the Lord will do in all of our lives! We got rid of our belongings except for ministry needs and Caleb's things as storage was much too high. These belongings are stored in three homes. It was necessary to leave our car behind for someone to sell. It is not worth much and we praise God for those willing to help!
God blessed us in allowing us to sponsor a youth rally just before we left Wales. Our son, Josh and his wife Amy were visiting and he spoke. Five young people came forward. Three rededicated their lives to the Lord. One was saved. One tearfully did not accept salvation but a week later was gloriously saved along with a friend of his who was at our rally. Thank you for making this possible by your prayers and faithful support!
Please continue to pray for our healing! Pray that God will give us wisdom in seeking more information to help Virginia! She is doing really well since coming back but still needs platelets and blood. Her body was full of yeast and fungus which was fed by the mold problem in our house. It is finally beginning to go away. We would love to be able to go and see our grandchildren, but they all live far enough away that we cannot make the trip and still take care of Virginia's transfusions. Our daughter, Sarah and her husband Bob are the parents of our newest grandson, Josiah Paul Hill. He was born on September 21st. Please pray for our medical financial needs. We will have to pay the first $1500.00 up front plus 20%. Remember, you are always in our prayers! If you need to reach me by phone my cell number is [removed]. Our Stateside address is 212 S 2nd St. McConnellsburg, PA 17233. It is our son's home.
In His Service,
Mike & Virginia Coverett
