Mike and Debbie Lane: November 2006 to January 2007
Greetings Dear Co-laborers in the harvest of souls in Honduras,
We rejoice to report to you the greatest year that we have seen in the ministry here in Honduras. God gave close to 250 souls won in about 20 areas of ministry. Over 70 were baptized and we helped in the construction of 6 church buildings.
This year (2007) has started with a bang with a campaign from a church from Monroe, Wa., Heritage Baptist Fellowship, which came with an intense desire to see souls won to Christ. We ministered to over 1,700 people in at least 7 communities with results of 155 persons receiving Christ as their Saviour. What a great way to start the year, Amen? January ended with 161 salvations, 4 baptisms, and 13 dedications to be involved in some ministry in the church! Praise God! This involves everything from cleaning the church, teaching classes, preaching, and one young teen who wants to be a missionary. The Lord is truly preparing the church in Colonia San Carlos, La Esperanza (New Hope Baptist Church) for a great ministry to all of Honduras and beyond. We have finished the walls of both additions on each side of the church, that will be class rooms, and the fellowship hall-kitchen. We still lack roofs, floors, windows, and doors. If your church can help we would appreciate it. $5,000 or 6,000 will probably finish both sides.
The young man, Andy Cote, who spent 7 months interning with us has gone home now to prepare for his wedding and future ministry. He was a great help and blessing to us and he learned a lot about practical ministry. We will miss him and would welcome others of his caliber in the ministry here. What a shame that the Mormons send countless young people all over the world and we have so few...
My wife and I would like to thank especially those churches who, through their generosity in bringing gifts to Honduras helped over 150 children of our works to receive a small Christmas gift this last December. For many, it was the only gift they received. Things like shoes, clothes, school supplies, stuffed animals, etc. were given and are very appreciated.
Thank you, too, for the many special Christmas offerings, cards and letters (many of which we are still receiving!). Your love and generosity make it possible to be involved in this great work. PLEASE keep us in your prayers. There are many open doors and many adversaries. We love you all. God bless and keep you, too.
In the love of Christ,
Mike and Debbie Lane
