Kevin and Stacy Byers: June and July 2008
Dear Praying Churches,
Summer is more than half way over and the kids are still enjoying the sunny weather. We are glad you have taken time during the month to read our letter and lift up our prayer requests to the Lord.
I wish I could say we are leaving for the field but we still need more churches to take on our support. I know the Lord will help us meet the goal in His time and we continue to stay busy traveling and sharing our burden.
The family is getting used to Noah and he is now very much a part of the family. I have developed a special knack for getting spit up on my left shoulder. Just like clockwork, Noah hits the same spot every time. Stacy says she can't get him to burp like that but I think she is using me. I want to thank you for praying about Noah's weight gain. Stacy is nursing the baby and his weight is not a problem any longer, we thank God for this.
We sent out a request by E-Mail this month hoping that someone had the school curriculum we need for Gabriel and Bella. It looks like we will just order this material on the internet. We had several people with various books but ordering the set gives a large enough discount; it wasn't worth the shipping money to collect the books from many different sources. We appreciate the e-mails we received concerning this material.
I received an e-mail from Pastor Herb Curriden concerning the rent situation. As you know, Eifel Baptist Church is our field church and we are on the way to work there. In my last letter, I told how the church was behind in rent by over $10,000.00 U.S. currency. I asked you to pray and to send money to the building fund if possible. One church from the states helped financially and several from overseas military ministries gave toward this need. Pastor Curriden said the total so far is $12,000.00 U.S. currency. Praise God for His provision in this matter. It was great to hear about the giving spirit among the military families. That is just the way with our military; they are the most giving group of people I know. The church still has a difficult time ahead of them. They need to continue paying the bills while working to purchase a building. This will only be done by the hand of God so please continue to pray. If you are willing and able, Eifel can still use your help as they try to get into a building. Buildings cost a lot. :-)
I have another important prayer request that needs your attention. You may not be aware, but Stacy is getting very old. She is turning 30 on Sunday, August 3rd. You can imagine how this is affecting her ability to get around and remember things. We are all very concerned and I knew you would want to know.
As we get closer to our support goal, we need to continue adding to our moving fund. We have been blessed by two very generous churches so our moving fund is starting to grow. If you are able to help with our moving expenses it would be a great help to us. Please remember to mark your gift "Moving Fund" so the home office will direct it to that account.
Finally, let me say how thankful I am to those churches that remain faithful to support us through this tough economical time. I know many are financially burdened and yet you continue to support our ministry.
Thank You!
Kevin, Stacy, Josiah, Gabriel, Bella, Caleb, and Noah
