Kevin and Stacy Byers: February 2007

Hallelujah for the Cross!

February was a very busy month and we are just starting to catch our breath from all the excitement. I do not have many scheduled meetings in March which is a disappointment, but it may give opportunity to visit churches I could not reach by phone or mail.

I only report new supporting churches after we actually begin receiving support but I believe next month we will reach the half way point. This will be a major milestone on deputation and we thank the Lord for his goodness to us. We hope to see the Lord meet our full support this year.

I sense patriotism is declining in America and some of that spills over into the church. I love this country and I believe God could visit America once again. The Gospel is just as important to our troops as it is to citizens of other countries around the world.

Have you noticed the Democrats plan to end war in Iraq? They intend to cut funding to the troops right in the middle of war. Any General will tell you war cannot be waged without supply, in fact; a common strategy in war is to cut supply lines to the enemy forces.

Satan understands warfare himself. He knows hundreds of missionaries eagerly stand by to be deployed to the mission field and Satan knows his demons are powerless against their message. The blood of Jesus Christ and the power of the Gospel prevail and pierce the darkness. After all, if God be for us; who can be against us? The greatest shortage is not missionaries; the primary shortage is that of supply. Satan works to divide and dismantle churches and weaken their mission giving, thus destroying the supply line to those on the field. As you pray for our ministry, please take time to view our itinerary and pray for churches we visit. Many churches and pastors need your prayer.

Stacy has been down with the flu for the last two weeks. Poor Stacy kept all 4 kids in snowy New Jersey while feeling miserable, and I was in sunny Florida preaching. Please pray for her health. Just last night, Bella woke up vomiting and suffering from a fever, we hope the cycle will end soon. Our traveling expenses were very high this month so please remember to pray about that also.

While presenting our ministry at Solid Rock Baptist Church, Pastor Charley Clark graciously opened his academy to our boys, Josiah and Gabriel. They are so excited to be in a "real school" for the first time in their lives. We are very thankful to the Lord, Pastor Clark, and the teachers who now have their hands full!

On my trip back from Florida, a stewardess announced some military coins were found on the luggage belt. I raised my hand to claim them which started a conversation with the two ladies seated next to me. We talked about the war in Iraq, my time in the service, and current events in general. One of the ladies mentioned how scary things are these days. I admitted they must be scary to one who has never read the prophecies found in scripture. The Lord gave a perfect opportunity to explain the Gospel. The airplane landed before they were ready to make a decision to trust Christ, but they both promised to read the scriptures I shared in the Bible and contact me at a later time. I gave each of them a prayer card and I hope to hear of their salvation soon. It is fun to see how God can use anything to capture the attention of a lost sinner.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayer for our family. We enjoy the ministry and we see the result of your prayers. Kevin, Stacy, Josiah, Gabriel, Bella and Caleb
