Kevin and Stacy Byers: July 2006

Prayer Partners and Supporting Churches,

Thank you for keeping up to date with our ministry while we continue our deputation. We owe a great deal to friends all around the world who are constantly helping us along the way while we present our ministry and share our burden with churches. Every time we have a need, the Lord uses someone to help meet it.

Thursday night we enjoyed a tremendous meeting at the Salem Baptist Tabernacle. We were greeted by friendly people who were very interested in world wide missions. We are privileged
to personally see what God is doing all across America. As His appearing grows near, and many fall away, and many loose their standards to the world; Our God continues to keep a strong remnant to serve Him. Salem Baptist Temple is only ten years old and was started by Pastor Steve Brown.

Last week the thermometer reached 105 degrees as we returned to Vancouver from Spokane Washington. We drove across the flat dry land of Eastern Washington and were 2 blocks from the house after our six hour drive. We stopped at a light when the Hardestymobile stalled. I tried several times to start it; but to no avail. Next, I jumped out to look under the hood, when I realized I was standing in a puddle of fuel. Stacy and I pushed the van to Safeway's parking lot to have a look under the vehicle.

We were very tired and just wanted to go home. Stacy went in the store to find some food for us and I called my dad for a tow. I was sure we had a hole in the fuel tank and would need some way to catch all the gas. Upon further examination, I found a disconnected fuel hose hanging from the fuel pump. I snapped it into place and the car started right away. We trust the Lord hears your prayers as you ask Him to provide us with safety on the road.

This month I was able to schedule many meetings in the North East. We also reserved a missionary apartment in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey for little more than four hundred dollars per month. This will be a great help as most of our meetings are only a few hours from there. Lighthouse Baptist Church in Gloucester City will be providing nearly all of our groceries through their generous food closet. Last year, Pastor Doster killed at least six deer so meat shouldn't be a problem either.

Last week Josiah flew into the kitchen to inform me it was "love day." Gabriel, nodding his head enthusiastically and grinning from ear to ear said "uh huh uh huh." Then Gabriel said "yeah, and yesterday was pounding day." "Just what is pounding day?" I enquired. Gabriel explained how Josiah ties him up and "pounds" him on pounding day. The kids had a chart for the week filled up with pounding day, love day, bully day, and the list goes on. So what is my point? Pray for us please!
