Keith and Donna South: October 2007
Praise the Lord and just step back and see what He will do! I want to thank everyone for your prayers for our family and this ministry the Lord has put us in.
We are praising His Holy Name and thanking Him for a great start on our fall ministries. We are down a little from the number of kids we had last year. Several of our families we ministered to last year have moved out of our area. We have a new family just recently join our church who is a huge help in our youth ministries.
Please pray for our upcoming Heroes Night tomorrow Saturday the 29th. We will once again be honoring our Local County and city law enforcement, Fire, & EMS . We will feed them supper then we will have our main speaker, finally ending up with me saying a few words and presenting each agency with a small token of our thanks. Our mission's conference is coming up in November and we would ask that you all be in prayer with us about that. We have several families who are in need of salvation that we have been working with. The Wood family is in a home Bible study, pray that mom and dad will accept Christ as their Savior. Pray for the Taylor family. Again mom and dad need Christ. The one son ( Clifton ) has recently accepted Christ. Both families are members of the LDS church but are attending Sunday services and hearing the gospel on a regular basis.
The family is doing well. Donna has noticed a little deterioration with her Parkinson's but still not too bad. She is even beginning to get a little of her energy back which is good news and bad. It's great because she is feeling a little better. She was tired of being tired. The down side is she has more energy to get after us! The playing field was a little more leveled with her run down but now every once in a while we see what energy can do! It's an amazing thing and I have to admit impressive what can take place around here when she's hitting on all cylinders. Glenn is still struggling. His marriage is all but over and he is now in truck driver's school in Phoenix . We would ask you to pray for him that we would come back to the Lord and be able to finish his training and hit the road driving a truck like he has wanted to do since he was about 8 years old. He needs to succeed in something to get himself back on his feet. Jeff is doing very well at Northland. He is class Chaplin again this year as well as Chaplin for their SALT group. He is also leader of his extension team again and loving the time serving at their extension church. He has decided to wrestle this year and looking forward to doing that again. We would ask you to pray for his school bill. He will need about $6700 to be able to finish this year. He's convinced that the Lord will provide it if He wants Jeff to stay so he will not allow us to secure any type of loan. Brad & Doug are busy with school, work, and football. Brad is managing a small pizza place here in town and Doug is working there too. It has been a blessing in the sense that they have had flexibility in their schedules. They are both doing well in school and football. The other day the team got their travel gear for game day. This includes sweats and a bag big enough to hold their cloths, pads, and helmet. Sometimes, being home schoolers, our boys get left out of things. Last year Brad didn't get a bag at all and this year his bag didn't have his name or number stenciled on it. Donna ignited and took the bag to a business that we use and got his bag stenciled like all the others. She then proceeded to take the bill to the coach to get reimbursed. After all they weren't treating her baby right and she was more than ready to educate them! It took me fifteen minutes to talk her out of it with a promise to take it over myself for reimbursement. That was one of the days she was feeling a "little" more energy. Please pray for me and the boys!
