Juan and Amy Vallejo: March and April 2007

Dear Pastor and Church Family,
We pray that this letter finds you enjoying the blessings of God in your lives and ministries. Thank you for your support in our ministry that has allowed us to do the will of God. The Lord has blessed us here in the country of Brazil with protection, health, and the ability to serve in His work.

Since I have had the privilege of preaching for the soccer ministry, we have led many young men to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and every week the group is growing more and more. We are running around 60 in attendance; please pray for this ministry as it is the only time these boys hear the Word of God. I am driving some of the players from our neighborhood to the soccer ministry, and, praise the Lord, now they are coming to church with us. When my wife scheduled the nursery workers this time, there were 3 new ladies added to the list, which will help her growing class. She recently planned incentives for her Sunday school class during the 6-week Family Campaign.

Praise the Lord for keeping us from many possible accidents on our van route. The people here drive without caution, and many appear to be driving without a license as well. Not only do we need to beware of automobiles, but also of motorcycles that drive between the lanes. One must also watch for the pedestrians since most of them do not use the sidewalks; this is quite dangerous since there is little lighting for the streets at night. They are in danger of being hit by the cars that race by, as was the case during an accident last Saturday here in Sao Paulo. During the altar call, Mateos walked the aisle for salvation. I had the privilege of giving him the Gospel, and he accepted the Lord as His Savior that night. Later he told the pastor, "I am a child of God now."

We have had several false witnesses come to our door, and we are eager to reach the community of Jardin de Umarizal with the TRUTH. Recently, my wife invited 3 of our neighbors, Lucia, Antonecia, and Maria Elena, for tea and cake. Lucia came on Tuesday and was chatting with Amy while the kids played in the next room. She asked Amy why we came to Brazil, and my wife had her Bible ready on the table and shared with her that she was the reason we came here. After my wife explained God's gift of salvation, Lucia asked the Lord to save her. Wednesday, Antonecia came and asked my wife the same question. My wife told her that the Lord brought us here to share His promise of salvation with her, and she also asked the Lord to save her. Thursday, Maria Elena rang the doorbell for a time of tea and cake with my wife and after chatting asked her why we came all the way from America (and Mexico) to Brazil. My wife showed her from the Portuguese Bible how she could have eternal life and live in Heaven forever. She also accepted God's gift that day. Praise the Lord, my wife found a way to go soul winning even when she didn't have a babysitter! Please continue to pray for more souls to be saved!
Thanks to the Lord, we are speaking more Portuguese, and this has helped us communicate the Gospel better and allowed us to invite more people to church. Next month we are planning to start a Bible study in our home with the recent converts here in our neighborhood. Please pray for us and for the needed chairs (40), lights, and hymnbooks. Also, we will need material to make windows for the patio to protect us from the winter that is coming soon in Brazil. This will cost about $1,500, as the materials here are more expensive. If you can help with any of this burden, we (and the people who will soon be saved) will appreciate your giving.

In March and April, by God's grace we had the joy of leading 75 people to the Lord and saw one of them baptized. Thank you for your prayers and your financial support. May God bless you.

For God's service,
The Vallejo Family

Dear Pastor and Church Family, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you! We are rejoicing at what God is doing here in Brazil. With your prayers we are able to withstand the devil's attacks, live in peace in a fearful land, and be a light to a darkened world. May you realize your part in our ministry and where we would be without your faithful support financially and prayerfully....continue
