Jonathan and Becky Earnhart: September 2007

Dear Praying Friends,

Winter has officially arrived in Michigan. It was 55 degrees and I'm sure it's about to snow at any minute!!! My toes are staying warm thanks to Pastor Payne!!

We are excited to share with you that 5 adults from our ministry in Calvario (Tacna) will be baptized in the upcoming week. Isn't that amazing!! Two of the ladies that will be baptized have been going through discipleship classes for over 5 months. We are so thrilled to hear of the growth in the church during our absence. Please continue to pray because we know that when God's children are growing the devil isn't happy. We're so proud of the hard work and prayers on the part of the leadership there in Tacna.

On a family note, we would ask your prayers for our 14 year-old son, Drew. Yesterday he was enjoying a day of fun with some of our good friends. Bryan took the kids to ride ATV's and on Drew's 'just one more try' he had an accident and flipped on the ATV. After being thrown and the ATV landing on his leg we were amazed that he was conscious and still able to walk! His leg has many scrapes and contusions but nothing time won't heal. His collar-bone is another story. After several hours in ER and visits this morning, it is determined that the clavicular fracture he sustained will require surgery because the break is an over-lapping break. He will go into surgery tomorrow morning at 10:30. Please pray for his healing and that the Lord would use this time 'apart' to show Himself strong.

We will need to arrange for physical therapy to help Drew make a complete recovery. We will miss his piano playing for a few weeks and dad will miss the one-on-one BB games. Drew's hoping he'll be back together for hunting season...why else would dad schedule meetings in Minnesota in the winter!!

Please pray for God's provision in this unexpected situation. We're thankful that the Lord never says, "Oops!". He knew we needed this opportunity to grow closer together and trust Him more. We appreciate your prayers and especially your friendship.

Lovingly,
Becky (for the boy)
