Greg and Wendy Mann: March 2008
Dear Family and Friends,
We are now less than 10 days away from the start of Anitoch Baptist Church. We have men from our ministry busy painting, building benches, and doing general clean up on the land. We will have a "crusade" beginning on the 13th running through Sunday the 16th. I would be grateful for churches to keep this in prayer.
This morning we waved good-bye to our good friend Bro. Nico from Wycliffe. We had a good meeting yesterday concerning the Carib Scripture project. Nico is suggesting a new program that might work well with the Caribs. The project is aimed at getting Bible stories recorded into native tongues. The Caribs do not know how to read and write, they are a very "oral" people. It is hoped that by getting Bible stories into the Carib tongue, it may open the door for translation work.
We have a plan, but we need people. Please pray with us. The program would require a "team" to give a 2-3 year commitment. A team would ideally consist of a husband and wife. There is no special prior training required, as the training is given as you go. Nico and I want to see someone willing to do this by the end of this year. What a great way to spend 2-3 years of your life! Image getting God's message to a Bible-less people. The program is designed to facilitate a church planting movement among the Carib people. Would you like to be the one that opens the door for that movement?
We really do need your prayer...and the Carib people need you! I like what the Macedonians Christians did, the Bible says they first gave themselves to the Lord. We are not asking for money, we are asking for something far more valuable...your life. This is a modern day Macedonian call...we have a people...we have a plan...we just need laborers.
Lets all wrestle with those thoughts a few days...I hope you are stirred for the Carib people.
