Greg and Wendy Mann: March 2008
Dear Family and Friends,
We are now less than 10 days away from the start of Anitoch Baptist Church. We have men from our ministry busy painting, building benches, and doing general clean up on the land. We will have a "crusade" beginning on the 13th running through Sunday the 16th. I would be grateful for churches to keep this in prayer.
This morning we waved good-bye to our good friend Bro. Nico from Wycliffe. We had a good meeting yesterday concerning the Carib Scripture project. Nico is suggesting a new program that might work well with the Caribs. The project is aimed at getting Bible stories recorded into native tongues. The Caribs do not know how to read and write, they are a very "oral" people. It is hoped that by getting Bible stories into the Carib tongue, it may open the door for translation work.
We have a plan, but we need people. Please pray with us. The program would require a "team" to give a 2-3 year commitment. A team would ideally consist of a husband and wife. There is no special prior training required, as the training is given as you go. Nico and I want to see someone willing to do this by the end of this year. What a great way to spend 2-3 years of your life! Image getting God's message to a Bible-less people. The program is designed to facilitate a church planting movement among the Carib people. Would you like to be the one that opens the door for that movement?
We really do need your prayer...and the Carib people need you! I like what the Macedonians Christians did, the Bible says they first gave themselves to the Lord. We are not asking for money, we are asking for something far more valuable...your life. This is a modern day Macedonian call...we have a people...we have a plan...we just need laborers.
Lets all wrestle with those thoughts a few days...I hope you are stirred for the Carib people.

Greg and Wendy Mann: February 2008 update
Dear Family and Friends, It has been a few weeks since I have given an update. Everyone is doing well. The boys are busy with school every day. Wendy is busy with teaching them, and keeping up with the household chores. I am constantly amazed at her hard work and steadfast support to the boys and I. She is really amazing. I hope that you ladies are faithful to pray...

Dear Family and Friends, Last week I was in the jungle all week, and this week I have not had much chance to write. Let me catch up on a few things for you. We were blessed to have men from small country church in Alabama with us last week. Despite many setbacks with the delivery of materials, these men gave us a huge start on our new building in...

Dear Family and Friends, Early this morning as I was going over my notes for our ministry training classes, I was struck by a powerful thought. Most of us can agree that the world needs the gospel. Most of us can also agree that planting indigenous churches is the key to success. By definition an indigenous church is self governing, self supporting, and self propagating. We hold these standards out...

Dear Family and Friends, Last week I held another two day session of our Bible school. The men enjoyed spending alot of time on sermon preparation. I had the men work together in gathering useful information for a sermon series in the book of Philippians. They used Bible encyclopedias, dictionaries, and commentaries. Once they had gathered these things together, I had them write an introduction to the book. Next we...

Dear Family and Friends, It has been a few weeks since I last wrote. This should be the last update you will get from us, sent from the States. We are scheduled to return to Guyana on the 4th of May. We are very anxious to return home and get back to the work God has for us there. We have been able to raise some much needed support, and...

Dear Family and Friends, The last time we "talked" we were headed for Marcus Pointe Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL, where we started a conference on 3/4. Marcus Pointe really went all out for their conference...we saw things there that we have never seen and experienced in any conference! The church had a man repel out of the ceiling onto the platform to start the conference with the exciting theme...

Dear Family and Friends, We are still very busy traveling. For those who have prayed for us, we are grateful. As most of you know, it is imperative that we raise our monthly support, as well as raising funds for projects and special needs. So far, since the first of February, we have only one "concrete" promise of additional monthly support from a church. Please pray that the churches we...

Dear Family and Friends, It has been a little time since I have been able to get a letter out. My family and I left Guyana for the States on January 5th. Once I got Wendy and the boys settled in the Orlando area near a supporting church, I returned to Guyana for some "finishing touches." Upon my return to the States I was priviledged to be the missionary speaker...

Dear Family and Friends, I am at the Miami airport awaiting my flight back to Guyana. Wendy and the boys are safe and in a nice home near Orlando, Florida. I will be in Guyana for several days wrapping up some unfinished business. I will have the opportunity to gather our men together for a time of instruction, encoruagement, and prayer. December was a difficult month for our ministry and...

Dear Family and Friends, Please forgive our "silence." We have recently hosted a dental clinic and then spent a week in "town," for some much needed R and R. Wendy has battled a bad infection in her ankle, that has taken her down for serveral days. Thankfully she is doing MUCH better today. On Friday I had a great meeting with the men in our ministry. I am wanting them...
