Garry and Pam Tyler: March 2006

Dear Supporters and Praying Friends,

Many changes have been taking place, and your prayers have helped us understand the next step
in the ministry the Lord has given to us to reach Brazilians with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In a very definite way the Lord had been speaking to me for some time to turn over our church and ministries to Pastor Laercio Bertanha, who was accepted as pastor of the Independent Baptist Church of Limeira in October 2005. I felt the Lord speaking to me as He did to Abram, "Get thee out...unto a land that I will shew thee," so I had to "get out." Now this church and Bible Institute are totally an indigenous ministry led by a Brazilian trained in our Bible Institute. The Independent Baptist Church of Limeira is not dependent on US funds but only the tithes and offerings of its own people. To God be the Glory!

"Get thee out...unto a land that I will shew thee."I traveled with my son, Joel, to see several cities, but the Lord kept pricking my heart with the need that we have found in the second largest city in the world, the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, with 28 million people, so a Brazilian pastor has told us. The Lord has burdened our hearts to help train Brazilians, hearing and deaf, in this great city. There is no Independent Baptist Fundamental Bible Institute that stands separated from the world, its music and its indecency, training men and women to go into the world to start churches, as well as take over churches missionaries have started. Planting as well as pastoring New Testament Baptist churches is one of the greatest needs we have in Brazil. At present there are three BIMI missionaries starting churches in Sao Paulo and a Brazilian Pastor who has a strong separated Baptist deaf church. Our goal is to build a strong Bible Institute for hearing and for deaf.

We will be working with Pastor Rinaldo Belisario, pastor of the Baptist Church of the Bible, a deaf church with a hearing ministry, so that I can get more knowledge, experience and skill in working with the deaf. We have already started planning for the Institute even though we still live in Limeira, two and a half hours away.

We earnestly need your prayers as God is doing marvelous things even before we move.

On March 7 a missionary in Sao Paulo offered his house for us to buy. It is larger than our house and is just what we need to start the Bible Institute! It has two rooms separated from the house itself, perfect for starting classes until we can get something larger as we grow!

Other needs that we have now:
1. Please help us to pray to sell our house and buy the one offered to us as well as do all the paperwork, cost in transfers, taxes, registration, etc., that needs to be done.

2. Pray with us concerning the cost to move to Sao Paulo. I am yet to get an estimate.

3. Pray with us concerning the opportunity to visit several deaf ministries that have been established for many years in countries near Brazil. This would greatly help us in planning our deaf institute here in Brazil. Missionary David Bennett who has worked with the deaf for many years has invited me to travel with him to see the ministries in Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. Also, if the Lord is willing, I would like to travel helping Missionary Sean Lunday on a trip to the Amazon with a group of students from Oklahoma Baptist College and a few Brazilians. All of these trips would open doors for me to better plan and take Brazilians to see missions first hand! Many who visit the field return to the field as missionaries!

4. The dollar still continues to fall little by little, now a total drop of 39% in value.

Praise the Lord! On January 21 I went with another missionary to the home of a deaf lady who lives five hours away in the city of Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo. There we preached and witnessed to several of her deaf friends and three trusted the Lord as Saviour. They want someone to return to preach the Word to them.

Praise the Lord! My wife and I were invited to visit a married lady and her husband in an apartment building and the lady, Silmara, asked Jesus Christ to be her Savior! What joy we saw on her face, but she needs prayer and her husband needs Jesus as Saviour.

Praise the Lord! Pr. Laercio baptized eight on February 26, the last Sunday that we were in our church in Limeira. Now we are traveling every week to Sao Paulo until we move.

We do thank you for your faithfulness in support and prayers. God knows that if we are going to accomplish this great task in Sao Paulo, He will need to use His people to help us. May all this be for the multiplication of the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord in Brazil!

May God be blessed,
Garry & Pam Tyler
