Gale and Chrisann Dawson: October 2007 (2)

Good Morning Friends,

I sat down for a few minutes to watch the news after lunch yesterday, and read the news scrolling across the bottom of the television, it read "A plane crashed in Kinshasa killing many." I called Jean-Marie because he was in Kinshasa yesterday. Jean's fine. The Russian made old, old airplane was a cargo plane. Three Russians along with 14 passengers were killed. The body count, including a boy and girl who were crushed by a falling wall, were 23 so far. Many have third degree burns, were rushed to the hospitals in the surrounding area. The plane fell onto peoples houses by the airport. A sad day indeed. Pray for peoples comfort.

It sounds like the Ebola virus is close to being contained. According to the World Health Organization, the so-called "Zaire strain" of Ebola kills over 80 percent of those infected through massive blood loss, and has no cure or treatment. It is spread through direct contact with the blood or secretions of an infected person, or objects that have been contaminated with infected secretions. This sickness is a hemorraghic type fever. You literally bleed to death inside out. The death toll has risen to 171 people. Pray for peoples comfort.

Tomorrow we have a wedding of one of our Bible College teachers. We are expecting 450 people to attend. Pray a miracle for the provision of food. We love you all!
