"It's Good to Be Back Home Again"

What a joy to be back home again! I am so proud of our believers, Community Baptist Church of Maluku. The church has continued to grow in my absence. Last week we had over 430 people attend. In the past two w eeks we have had over 20 people saved in services. The soul-winning members have won over 125 souls to the Lord this year, and 11 college students have won 97 souls to the Lord totaling 222 people. We have baptized 73 people this year.

The college is gearing up with a full load and 28 students attending. The colleges in the Congo are for three years, then a student begins working on his master's degree. Three new college teachers have arrived over the summer from our interior college totaling six college teachers covering all the classes.

The Christian Academy started before I returned with over 300 children in the elementary school alone. We reluctantly had to cut back our Academy ministering to kindergarteners through third grade with about 180 children enrolled.

Vacation Bible School was a great success July 30th-Aug 3rd. We had 1,050 children attending daily and several hundred coming to Christ. Over 80 church members daily ministered to our community, with several business either donating items or aiding in funds. We received a thank you letter from a mother thanking us for this tremendous effort of love.

The focus for this year will be to organize the Christian Academy, and open the publication/media department. We will be making a concerted effort to finish our college courses and Christian school supplemental curriculum. We want to design a news paper, and television/radio recordings to minister to our capital city, Kinshasa (population 8 million).

Hello from the Dawson family! We had a smooth flight from Philadelphia, PA to Paris, France to Kinshasa, DR Congo.

Chrisann has finally come to a rest after several weeks of packing, hours of flying, weeks of unpacking and organizing the house. She has now put on the other hat of home-school teacher. Suzannah is no longer a little girl of "all play" but feels the weight of being a missionary too! She helps her mother in the kitchen and enjoys sewing. Mackay enjoys the outdoors, holding babies, drawing and reading. William, after being her five days asked, "Mom, have we been here a year yet?" William is all boy. He loves the outdoors! All is well, we love all of you! God Bless!

The Dawsons.
