Donavan and Laura Bangs: May 2006

Dear Friends,

Another month has come and gone and the English summer is almost upon us. So, that means dark gray clouds and the occasional drizzle. Although, despite this we are officially in a drought with bans on hose pipe use coming into effect.

During our Sunday evening study time Laura had the privilege of leading Buneme to Christ. He is the older son of Sam and Flavia. We will be dealing with him about baptism soon. Saying that, we do not yet have baptismal robes. So, I brought the matter before the church and we decided we would order some blue ones.

Things have also been progressing with the starting of a Bible College further north. I have been asked to teach a course or two. I feel that this will be a good opportunity to help mold young Christian's lives to cause an impact for the cause of Christ. I should be able to do this from home through the internet. This will mean no time lost in travel and no insane costs for fuel. I have also been able to secure permission to reproduce a text book for the college.

There may be another missionary coming to the region. A Korean man, who is intending to work on the far side of Cambridge, as in that area there are a large number of Asian people. I have been able to give him some counsel and advice concerning living in England. Closer to the time I should be able to give him a hand in house hunting.

Some encouraging spiritual growth has taken place in the church as the men have been asking about different methods for evangelism. They have started taking tracts with them. It is a true blessing when you see the people you have been teaching take those principles and put them into action.

We are also discussing for the early Autumn sponsoring a community family day. Basically, a barbeque picnic thing followed by a short message. Of course, since this is England I will need to get permission from about four different local groups or councils. We would appreciate your prayers concerning this matter.

We thank you for your continued prayers and support and we look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store next month.

In Christ
