Donavan and Laura Bangs: April 2006

Dear Friends,

April has been a great month. Jun and Christina, a Filipino couple, came out and really enjoyed the services. They are eager not only to attend, but to be involved. They are ready to learn and are hungry for the Word. Jun also is the first of our people to bring a visitor to the church. Sam and Flavia remain faithful and Sam helped me put up the church sign for the first time. We also had another young couple come to the church. Jonathan and Jo, who are engaged. He lives in Cambourne and she lives in another village nearby. They attest to knowing Christ as Saviour. They are very happy that a good church is starting here. He has worked in Christian outreach in France and is willing to be involved. In fact, I was able to help him directly by finding somebody getting rid of some leftover sand, about 1/3 of a ton, and helped transport it to his place. If that doesn’t say the pastor cares about you I don’t know what does. In fact, I have been able to meet a lot of people from the Cambridge freecycle group and give them info on the free gift of eternal life.

Our literature distribution is proceeding well. We have now expanded and covered the villages of Papworth and Caxton. We will be proceeding onto the next villages soon.

We have started a Sunday evening service in our home. The first Sunday we had 13 in service including us. I am hoping to use this time to disciple the people before we proceed to the next stage in our growth. Jun and his wife are familiar with some of our traditions as in the first evening service they brought cake.

We thank you for your prayer and support and we pray that the Lord will continue to bless. We are praying for the Lord to bring someone with musical ability as my skills in that department are a little lacking. He has blessed our efforts and we are grateful to be in his service.

In Christ,
Donavan and Laura Bangs
