David and Jenny Harris: September 2007

Summer in Japan
It was a wonderful summer for our family. We enjoyed being back in Aomori serving the Lord together.

Not long after we returned, the Lord helped us go to Okinawa for our annual BIMI Field Conference. We were able to fellowship with BIMI missionaries from the Philippines, China and Japan. We were also treated royally by pastor Steve Nutt and the members of Maranatha Baptist Church.

It was a blessing to be at Maranatha a few extra days and minister in their services. In all, I preached three times, translated two messages and taught two Japanese Sunday School classes. It was a blessing to see souls saved and decisions made for the Lord.

We were also able to visit and go visiting with the Lighthouse Baptist Church where Missionary Dan Gardner and family are working. The day we went visiting was so hot, you would have thought we went swimming. It was a great experience for our family.

Off to School
On August 24, Jenny took Jannah and Juliana to California to get them settled at West Coast Baptist College. Jannah is a junior this year and Juliana is just starting. They are doing well and enjoying college life. They can be reached at the following addresses:
*Jannah.Harris...[contact church for info]
*Juliana.Harris...[contact church for info]
You may also write either of them at: 4010 E. Lancaster Blvd.; Lancaster, CA 93535.

Jenny's Trip Back
On her trip back to Japan, Jenny had to fly from Los Angeles to Atlanta and then on to Tokyo. She had a special (cheaper) ticket that made this necessary, but the $200 cost was well worth the extra travel. Of all things, the day she was to arrive in Tokyo a typhoon hit and moved through Tokyo before the flight landed. By the time she made the 1.5 hour bus trip between the International and Domestic airports, she found that all flights heading to Aomori had been cancelled. The typhoon was heading in that direction. She had to fly into a neighboring city, Misawa, the next morning.

Tract Project
Our tract distribution project was delayed, but we should reach our goal of 500,000 tracts by the end of the year. When completed, you will have helped us pass out 850,000 tracts in our area in the past three years. Pray that souls will be saved and the Lord will direct us as we pray about our next project.

New Web Sight
We have started work on a web sight that we hope will help accomplish the following:
*provide information about our family and ministry.
*challenge future missionaries for this part of the harvest.
*help you to pray for the work .

The address is: [contact church for info]

We are also developing a dvd presentation. We are burdened that more people see the need of this part of the harvest and will surrender their lives to come and help us.

New Prayer Cards
We are soon to receive 4,000 new prayer cards. The images are attached. If you would like one (some), just write us a note via our email address and let us know. Please include a mailing address. If you are on our hard copy list, there will be one in the letter. For any of our churches that are interested, please let me know how many you can use. We will be glad to get them to you.
