Dan and Tricia Dubbe: May 2006
Dear Ones in Christ,
"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28,20. On Wednesday evening the church here assembles for prayer and Bible study. For the past year we have been working through a discipleship course with 27 lessons each that take two, three or sometimes more weeks to complete. Two other men and myself have been leading the church through this basic and yet thorough doctrinal and practical lessons with the purpose of equipping the believers not only with information but with a goal of life transformation and the ability to train others also. This is as I understand it the fulfilling of the great commission. It is exciting to see the believers participate and contribute in this and we anticipate seeing fruit for the glory of God!
Moving in soon! The church will begin on the renovation of the former village train station in the town of Bischofsheim about 6 miles from our present location. It is in the middle of our local outreach area and convenient to all the current church family. Over the next two months the building will be renovated with the goal of moving in at the end of July. The facilities provide a much better location, parking and access, as well as improved suitability for conducting regular and special services, youth meetings and activities. Many of our men are skilled in building, painting, electrical work etc. and will do the work themselves. Much prayer has gone into this and we believe God has answered and are thankful!
Caught another one! Tuesday's is my regular visiting time with one of our deacons to follow up on prospects or go door to door soul winning. A couple of weeks ago we talked to a middle aged man that had come once or twice to a Bible study in a home of one of our ladies. Standing in the bus stop we talked for about an hour and Leonid bowed his head and trusted Christ as his Savior. Two weeks earlier he had been seriously ill in the hospital and realized then that God had given him another chance. Please pray for him, his wife and children that God would work in their lives as well!
Preacher boy! Last Sunday a week ago Johann Dollinger preached in the main service. This 18 year old young man was saved in the church six years ago, helps with my son Tim in leading the teen ministry and is intense about serving God. He has an obvious ability to communicate Bible truths with a heart to serve others and is unashamedly open to tell others about Christ.
Camp meeting time: Next month is our annual church camp meeting. This year instead of a local camp ground we have rented a retreat facility in an old castle about two hours from us. A German evangelist will be speaking and many visitors have already reserved their place. Please pray that God would use this time in a great way in each ones lives and that souls would be saved!
Furlough in August November 2006: We are planning on a short furlough this summer and would be honored to report to any of our supporting churches that would like us to come by and give a report of the ministry in Germany. Our furlough base will be in Virginia. My family will be in the States for 6 weeks then returning to the field and I will stay through the middle of November in order to report to churches. Pastors please let me know as soon as possible if you want me to report of the work during this time. Please note my current E-mail address as noted above. Stateside I will be able to be reached through my daughter in Virginia at telephone number 540-943-3242. Thank you and looking forward to seeing some of you all!
Thank you! We want to thank each one of our supporting churches for your faithfulness in prayer and contributions that make this ministry here in central Germany possible. Several have increased monthly support recently and we appreciate your consideration and extra help. May God richly bless you all!
Yours for souls,
Dan & Tricia Dubbe with Family
