Dan and Tricia Dubbe: September 2007
Dear Ones in Christ,
"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. Our current series over the gifts of the Spirit on Wednesday evenings is progressing well. One important and interesting aspect of the gift of exhortation is comforting (same Greek derivative). Our heavenly Father is a God of comfort with a grand goal of getting the best out of us and we should do the same for others especially of the household of faith!
Camp news: This summer both the church camp meeting and the youth camp went well with visitors present, Christians encouraged and souls being saved. The speaker for the camp meeting cancelled at the last minute and we had to cover it ourselves . It must have been of the Lord for many said it was the best camp meeting we have had. At youth camp one of our preacher boys led a set of twins from our church to the Lord. Their mother was saved earlier this year and was so happy that they trusted Christ. Five of our church young people who grew up going to youth camps here were active in the teaching, music, activities and planning of this year's youth camp. It is exciting to see an enthusiastic faith in the young people taking action!
Outreach: This past Saturday men's and leadership meeting spent the major part planning evangelistic activities for the remaining year and for next year. Several in the church want to be baptized and there will be a baptismal service soon. Foreign missionaries have been invited to present their ministries on the field and work is being done on the cottage outreach meetings. Both youth and church wide evangelistic meetings and will be undertaken. A church webpage should be up by the end of the year along with attractively printed brochures for the church. God has raised up this church here to reach people and our folks take that seriously. We appreciate your prayers for the assembly of believers here!
Home front: Good news from the States is that our daughter, Becky had a baby boy this summer. Our first grandchild! Tricia was able to travel back and spend several weeks there and of course brought pictures and a video back. They have recently moved and live in Virginia near Charlottesville. Tricia was also able to see her father in Virginia who is ailing. Also our son Mark is back from a US Air Force tour in Iraq without any problems. God answered prayers and we greatly appreciate those who also prayed for him while he was there!
Thank you! We are indeed grateful for the privilege of serving as an outreach of your church's evangelistic arm. Thank you for your faithfulness in communication and concern for souls around the world. May God richly bless there at home as well! Greetings from our family and German believers!
Yours for souls,
Dan & Tricia Dubbe with Family
