Dan and Elizabeth Canavan: May and June 2006

Jing's Salvation--A Chinese young lady, Jing, has been coming to our Sunday morning services on and off for about 9 months. She was invited by both Man Juan & Yue. Each time that she comes, Beth and/or I witness to her. Man Juan & Yue have also talked to her at separate times. On her vacation to Switzerland, she was hit with the truth of God's existence and the reality of a Creator. "How can someone deny that there is a Creator God when viewing the majestic Alps! If God is real and He is the Creator as the Bible says, then the rest of what the Pastor and his wife have showed me from the Bible must be true," thought Jing. Upon her return to Ireland, she accepted Christ as her Saviour. Praise the Lord! Thank you for praying for her! She has been faithfully attending on Sunday mornings of late and is doing very well in discipleship - please continue to pray for her.

Michael's Growth--Michael Duff was led to the Lord by one of our members after meeting together for several months of Bible studies. We requested prayer that he would come out to church and be baptized. We are happy to report that the Lord has answered the first part. Michael has been consistently coming out to Sunday School for several weeks now and is progressing in his discipleship. Please continue to pray for baptism for him and for the salvation of his wife and children.

Mel & GG--This Pillipino couple were invited to church several times by Ador and Nellie who are also Pillippino. GG came once or twice over the last few years, but showed no real interest. About 4 months ago, Nellie was talking with GG about the Lord. She listened and had many questions. Nellie did not feel confident to answer them by herself because Mel & GG have been studying with Jehovah False Witness for 2 years. She set up a Bible study for them with me, her pastor. This Bible study went well. Because of their busy work schedules it was difficult to set up a second one. Ador and Nellie invited them to come out for Barbeque Sunday this last May 21st. Not only did they come, but they brought his 2 brothers, their wives and children. They were 12 of our 14 visitors for our Barbeque Sunday. Mel & GG listened to the message with attentive hearts. They have continued coming each Sunday morning since then. Please pray with all of us for their salvation.

Michael #2 -- He is one of my neighbors who has come back to me several times to discuss "religious issues". Please keep praying for him to be saved. He is continuing to want to get together with me. He has enjoyed our conversations in spite of the conviction by the Holy Spirit. I told him that our landlord is selling our home thus necessitating a move for our family. He was disappointed, but wants to keep up the contact. Please pray for Michaels salvation and other opportunities to present the gospel to him.

Moving/Vehicle Expenses - The sale of the duplex, which we have been renting since coming to Ireland, is progressing. The Lord recently provided another house to rent. Although there was a significant increase in rent, we thank the Lord the increase was not as steep as it could have been. Also, it appears the new house will be a good situation for the family. I use a trailer for a study in our back yard. The trailer has to be lifted out with a crane and the electric will need to be reconnected - that and other issues associated with the move will cost $900 - $1,000. Additionally, the "mini bus" we use for transportation has passed the 10 year mark. Because of tax and fuel issues the minibus is expensive to operate. It would be wise to update to a smaller, more efficient passenger vehicle in the near future. We would like to raise $4,000 to that end. Thank you for considering these expenses.

In Christ,

Daniel P. Canavan
