Bill and Terry Craig: September 2005

Dear Dr. Adams and friends,

In July, our two oldest sons married sisters from the Philippines. They met them last year while helping churches there. The brides come from a family of six girls, and have been faithful members with their parents in the Baptist church. David's wife is named Cheryll, and Johnny's wife is Clarisse. Quite a few of their relatives are in the ministry. Maybe because of the uniqueness of a double wedding, or maybe because the grooms were foreign, they had relatives from all over the Philippines come to the wedding. Cheryll was the secretary for the provincial head of the National Police, so he was also a guest. We have lots of pictures: let us know if you would like some.

Terry and I came back right after the wedding, but the newlyweds had to wait another three weeks in the Philippines before the visas into Japan were finally approved. Johnny got dengue fever (from mosquitos) and took an extra 10 days to get back to normal. Their wives seem to be very excited about being with us in Japan now. We had a reception for them in our church. Everyone is very happy for them.

We have just about got the building for the new church ready so David and Cheryll are probably going to move out to start the new work next month. Between working on things there, we have been visiting neighbors in the area, and giving out some New Testaments in Japanese. So far, many people have been receptive of our message. It is a two hour drive from our Nishinomiya church, but we try to go as often as we can.

Thank you so much for your love and support. We love you.

Your friends,

The Craigs
