Adam and Angela Young: May 2008
Dear Fellow Laborers,
Praise the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!
Two Saved
We just saw two people saved out on our evagelistic survey. One, who is named Alexander, is a student at a technical institute, but would like to become a lawyer some day. We set up a meeting, as he said he had a lot of questions. In the park where we met, he prayed to accept Christ for forgiveness of his sins once and for all. Volodya, who is 35 years old, also made a profession of faith. We set up a meeting for the day after the next, and he seemed very excited about Heaven. I am not sure what happened since that time, but he will not answer his phone now when I call, or any text messages. We have seen this many times when new converts run into spiritual struggles. Often when people share their salvation with friends and family, they ridicule them and say they have joined a "sect". They then feel lied to and fooled. Please pray that we would see Volodya again.
One of our Converts has TB
Alexander, who we have been working with for almost a year now, learned two weeks ago that he has a hole in his lungs and the doctors are telling him that he has tuberculosis. They are treating him with different pills and shots, while also watching him closely. In a month, they say that if the hole shrinks then they will continue with the same medicine. If there is no change, then they will switch medication. If the hole gets bigger, then they will do surgery. I talked with an American doctor friend of mine, and he said that there is no evidence that surgery really helps in these cases. Please pray that there will be positive news from the doctors in two weeks. If not, pray that through Alexander's testimony others will be saved.
This is Roman and his girlfriend Paulina who we have been witnessing to. Alexander is the one on the right who has been diagnosed with tuberculosis and has a hole in his lungs.
Still Collecting Bids
We are still collecting bids on the design of the house church. A key part of this is to find an architect with experience getting hooked up to electricity and gas, which are the two most difficult parts of the process. Please pray for wisdom.
Yours in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, Amelia, and Alisa
