Adam and Angela Young: February 2008

Dear Fellow Laborers,

Praise the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!

Permanent Residency Received
After two years of waiting, purchasing and remodeling an apartment, standing in lines with up to 95 people in them, we have received our permanent residency. Praise the Lord. At this time when many missionaries are being forced to consider leaving the field of Russia, we have just been given five more years to minister here. We know that this is only by the grace of God, because we could have easily been forced to leave as well. We rejoice greatly in His provision.

Three Month Furlough Planned
Now that our residency is settled we can come back and report to many of you whom we have not seen in many years. We have been on the field five years now and as most missionaries would normally take a year to report and rest, we cannot since the rules of our residency say we can only be gone from Russia for 90 days at a time. To make up for the churches that we will miss, we plan on coming back for three months roughly every two years.

Video Report Included
It always amazes me what God can do. Since we have arrived in Samara there have been some challenges to be sure, but as you will see in this video the victories have been sweet as well. We have included a video report to every supporter we have. The video may also be seen on our web site and is included in our e-mail update. If you are a Pastor and would like a copy, we would be glad to send you one.

Kerboom
That was all I heard and felt after a Toyota Landcruiser passed me on the left and snow went everywhere. We had just had something the Russians call a "snowfall" which is a lot like the Russian word for "waterfall" and now I know why. Snow was piled up everywhere after three days of non-stop snowing. Three lane freeways turned in to one lane caverns. When I was driving to work a car tried to pass me, but skidded and turned and got stuck in a three foot high snow bank so that he was perpendicular to the road, blocking the only clean lane. I saw none of this because he had kicked up snow as he went and naturally it all landed on me. I hit him right in the tail light, but the damage to his car was minor. We are thankful that no one was hurt. My car was not so fortunate. Pray for us, while I get my car fixed. Right now it is taking me three and half hours or so on the bus just to get into Samara from where we live.

Yours in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, Amelia, and Alisa
